Film4 contacted us and said they wanted to create extra engagment with an event they were holding at the Big Chill Festival 2009. They put together an area in the festival called the 'Dereliction Drive In' where festival goers would sit in wrecked cars and watch films projected on to the side of a lorry. The design and idea was in-keeping with the festivals theme of zombies and the viewers or 'Derelictors' found themselves in a post apocolyptic American drive in movie theatre.
Film4 wanted to take the buzz and atmophere from the event and put it online for more people to engage with. With this in mind we had a team working on the event capturing audio bites from the 'Derelictors' and uploading them straight to Film4's channel on the AudioBoo network. The interviews ranged from talking about favourite moments in horror films to simply capturing a conversation between friends. The overall effect was to make users in the online community not only aware of the event but also feel part of the action - as if they were there.
It also quickly built up a huge resource for people who attended the event to go back to after they had left and re-live the great experience they had with Film4 online.
